Volunteers to be Recruited for Wetland Park School

Volunteers to be Recruited for Wetland Park SchoolThe city environmental commission will be recruiting volunteers that have knowledge on the wetlands to work at the OCT Wetland Park School. The school will be the first one of its kind in the city and will focus on preserving nature. Those interested in volunteering can check out the official website www.szhec.gov.cn to know more. Existing wetland park staff will be the one to select qualified applicants to work with them in the park school.

During the school’s opening class, noted documentary filmmaker, writer and publisher Nan Zhaoxu shred his knowledge on local natural beauty and several possible protection issues with class participants. The nature school is planning to offer residents opportunities to learn more on nature by conducting outdoor lectures and field trips which is based on a model that is being used in Western countries and several countries in Asia.

The Wetland Park will be open to the Public on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday with Thursday reserved for group reservations. The park will cap its reservation system to 200 visitors a day and will open formally after the Spring Festival. Those who like to visit the park can make reservations every Wednesday through www.octbay.com.

The city is planning to open at least ten nature schools as two more schools is set to open before 2015.
