Possible Railway to be Built to Connect Two Airports
The Democratic Alliance for Betterment in Hong Kong is planning to build a new railway line that will link airports in Shenzhen and Hong Kong. The Alliance recently visited the new airport terminal and has learned how airports in both cities can strengthen their cooperation. The alliance states that both cities must continue to do research and look for potential of creating such a railway that will increase passenger flow and cargo between the two airports.
Shenzhen airport manager stated that the Hong Kong airport is boasting of a broad international network of flights while Shenzhen airport houses hinterland flights this network shows potential for increase in collaborations. And by adding a railway between the two airports will give passengers the right access to cheaper services at both airports while giving high end and intercontinental passenger’s access more internationalize at both airports as well.
Furthermore Hong Kong officials are in discussions on how to expand the airport after looking into the progress of the new airport terminal in Shenzhen. Hong Kong is also looking to actively seek more cooperation from airports located around the Pearl River Delta in their transition period if ever they plan to do an expansion to increase effectiveness.
