Customized Buses to Add More Routes this Year
The first batch of customized buses has started their operations during the first quarter of this year. According to the Shenzhen Bus group these buses will be providing direct service at pick up and drop off locations that is designated by riders that book the bus together. The group can then decide on the time and place of departure.
The first batch of buses will travel primarily on two general routes namely from Futian Checkpoint going to Qianhai development zone on the west side and from Meilin Checkpoint going to nearby business centers. Several residents are interested in trying out the new customized buses since most of the time the Metro and public buses are crowded especially during rush hours and usually takes them more than an hour to drive themselves to work or 30 minutes if there’s no traffic.
The chairman for the bus company Li Yongsheng stated that the company is planning to expand their bus services to more places this year as there is a great demand for customized buses. Riding on customized buses will guarantee that every passenger will have a seat that costs around 8 to 10 yuan per passenger which is cheaper than a public bus and cheaper than taking a taxi.
As of last year express bus routes for customized buses started operating in Shenzhen which mainly runs from Shajing in Bao’an to Shenzhen North railway Station and from Shanjing to Futian checkpoint.
