Veterinary Clinics to Offer Registration Services for Dog Owners
Pet dog’s owners in Futian can now register the pets at veterinary clinics in the district as the urban administration bureau entrusted more than 30 veterinary clinics to provide registration services for these pet owners which started last Monday. Futian will be the first district to provide such services and residents need to only take their pets, address information and ID cards to register.
Before pet registration procedures were troublesome as pet owners need to go to the nearest community office to gather documents, then to a veterinary clinic for pet examinations the lastly to a urban administration bureau for the final registration. The district urban administration bureau invited residents, veterinarians and pet owners to a discussion on how to further improve pet registration in the district. Participants all agreed that the district should entrust these clinics with the registration services. The district will have 21 clinics offering the service including the urban administration bureau, which is more compared to any other district in the city. The clinics will be offering the service on weekends as well.
The services will help guide dog owners in registering their dogs and will further improve their rate of registration of pet dogs in the city. Based on the city’s urban administration bureau there are 200,000 dogs in the city but only 36,000 or less than 20 percent are registered.
