City to Invite More Overseas Professional to Work in ShenzhenOfficials are planning to invite more than 1,800 professionals from overseas to work in city. Expats and Chinese nationals who are living abroad are invited to come back to the city and work. In so doing will bring the total number of overseas professionals working in Shenzhen up to 24,000. To achieve this goal, the city needs to increase policies that will help expats to work in the city by providing subsidies.

The city also needs to encourage Chinese professionals and students to return and work in the city. Shenzhen is planning to conduct recruitment fairs overseas in hopes of attracting high end professionals and research teams to work in the city. The city will be utilizing the national expats experts recruitment plan to help them attract professionals along with newer policies will give priority to professionals working in the city’s key fields and industries namely science, education sports and public health. Professionals that are working in these various sectors will receive subsidies from the government.

Based on Shenzhen’s five-year Plan that was launched last year, the city is aiming to attract 50 research teams and around 10,000 professionals for the development of the city’s capabilities of independent innovation in its emerging industries.
