Nanshan to Expand Bike Rental System to Other Districts
Nanshan District is planning to expand its public bike rental system and have it connect with the bike rental systems of eastern Longgang and Futian districts and with Pingshan and Longhua new area. By connecting the bike rental system will allow residents to rent and return rented bicycles in any of these places regardless where they got the bicycles.
Shenzhen public bicycle rental system is implementing a new payment system starting March 11 in Nanshan to allow this bike rental connection. The bike rental system supplies around 1,800 rental bikes in Nanshan, a thousand bikes in Futian, 1,500 bikes in Pingshan and Longhua and 2,800 in eastern Longgang. Once the payment system is finalized residents can use their Shenzhentong cards in paying rented bikes.
Nanshan started setting up its bicycle rental system last September in Shekou and by the end of November there were 72 bicycle rental locations with 1,800 bikes up for rent. To encourage residents to tryout the bikes the company didn’t charge any rental fee since December and will start charging on March 10.
