Shenzhen Celebrates Volunteer Day by Creating International Volunteer TeamAs the city celebrates its ninth Shenzhen Volunteer Day the city created a volunteer team that will be joining the ongoing efforts in become a more international metropolis. The team consists of more than 300 members including the existing volunteer teams, expats volunteer team and the foreign language volunteer service team in Shenzhen.

The newly formed team will be providing community services, assist in cultural exchange activities, sporting events, exhibitions and to promote civilized behaviors as well. Team members are expected to help residents, foreigners and expats in adjusting to the local life in Shenzhen.

The members will also lend a hand in maintain order in traffic and work as English language guides at public facilities such as libraries, art galleries and museums. Member will also be asked to participate in English languor sessions all across the city and help in correcting mistakes found in bilingual public signs. New members will be trained and details on recruitment and registration are available online on the official website home.sva.org.cn.

The city has a total of 950,000 registered volunteers and a total of 350 volunteer activities are planned this year ranging from environmental protection to aiding the disabled.
