Consumer App to get Upgrade for Better Services
The Shenzhen Consumer Council said that it will be doing upgrades on its mobile app that will allow them to receive and handle complaints coming from consumers. The upgraded app will start its trial operations by April 15. The existing mobile app of the consumer council was launched last year but was only set to accept complaints against businesses that signed commitment letters with the council.
The upgrade will allow the app to accept complaints from all business 24 hours a day and consumers are able to use the app to check businesses credibility records, information on the responses to complaints and the mitigation success rates along with consumer comments. For the moment the upgrades will work on Android powered smart phones. The app for the iPhone is still being planned and will be released soon.
The upgrade is part of the efforts of the council in providing better protection of consumer rights as a response to the newly revised consumer rights law that took effect during the International Day for Protecting Consumers Rights.
The council will also be creating a volunteer team that will help safeguard the legal rights of consumers. These volunteers will take part in the supervision of services, products and legal consultations.
