Annual Charity Hike to Start this Saturday
The largest annual hiking event in the city is set to happen this Saturday at the Inner lake Park in Nanshan. Around 30,000 people have registered online for the 100 kilometer Hike Through Shenzhen and other related activities that is intended to promote environmental protection and a healthy lifestyle.
Organizers along with the nonprofit organization www.doyouhike.net, for hiking enthusiasts, stated that the participants for the Hike Through Shenzhen will be faced with the challenge of walking 100 kilometers in 24 hours in a route that showcases the parks, urban streets, coastlines and mountain areas of the city. Registration will start at 6 pm Saturday at the Inner Lake Park, the rout for this year’s hike starts at the park and ends at Kuichong Square in Dapeng
The route will lead the participants through Shenzhen Bay Park, Shenzhen Central Park, Wutong Mountain, Maluanshan Country Park and Dameisha Beach Area. The hikers will be given beverages and assistance along the way and at seven of the checkpoints and 12 volunteer stations which is scattered in about every 15 kilometers along the route.
