Reclaimed Area to be Used of Liquified Natural Gas Project
The liquefied natural gas project will include a pier for LNG vessels with a capacity of 80,000 cubic meters to 267,000 cubic meters and a gas storage with an area of 35 hectares and a capacity to store 3 million tons of gas a year. The facility can also support the eastern section of the country’s second major west east natural gas transmission project and supply the natural gas for Guangdong Province and Hong Kong.
The commission said the LNG project includes a pier for LNG vessels ranging from 80,000 cubic meters to 267,000 cubic meters and a gas storage facility that will cover 35 hectares and have a capacity of 3 million tons a year. The LNG facility will support the eastern section of the country’s second major west-east natural gas transmission project, and will supply natural gas to Guangdong Province and Hong Kong.
The China National Petroleum Corp also applied to the State Oceanic Administration for the approval on their environmental impact assessment of the liquefied natural gas project. And since the project has possible environmental impact to Dapeng Fisheries, the commission said that fishermen, enterprises and other institution near the area and social organizers to come and let their voices be heard in the planned hearing.
