IT Industry Reaches Gross Output Target for 2013
Based on an annual report given by the Shenzhen IT Industry the gross output of the IT sector in Shenzhen has reached 1.24 trillion yuan for the year 2013 an increase of 9.3 percent from 2012. The gross value accounts for around 88 percent of the total output of the city’s high tech products as well.
Lu Jian the head of the Shenzhen Science and Technology Innovation Committee gave the report during the 2014 China IT Summit in Futian in which the event attracted known representatives in several of the leading IT companies in Shenzhen. in 2013 the city has exported IT products worth around US$ 150 billion which is 19 percent of the nation output and 15 of the local enterprises that are ranked among China top 100 IT companies and around 200 local IT enterprises which were listed locally and abroad.
Furthermore the city is working fast on construction Wi-Fi devices in public places and is implementing policies that hope to boost the development of software and hardware industry. Shenzhen alone is home to more than 4,000 software companies which in the total business have already exceeded 300 billion yuan in 2013 a growth of 20 percent year on year.
To further support the development of e-commerce in the city cooperation will be promoted between stakeholders and content providers in using big data and cloud computing technology
