Bus Companies to Adjust Routes to Allow Residents to Reach Major Cemeteries
Drivers are advised to avoid peak driving hours when driving to eastern Guangdong Province as part of the outbound rush in celebration of the Qingming Festival that will be starting today at 8 pm. Expressway operators and traffic police both said that drivers must not take the Shenshan and Huiyan expressways to avoid travel rush.
Traffic police will be conducting control measures on city roads that lead to the city’s major cemeteries in efforts to reduce congestion as crowds will be coming to visit their ancestors in local cemeteries. To further avoid traffic residents are advises to take public transportation if possible. The Shenzhen West Bus Co. is operating temporary buses that will be departing at a ten minute interval from 8 am to 4 pm Saturday in Bao’an as the company is provided free bus rides to Dawang Cemetery in Shajing to residents coming down from routes M254, M253, B789, 770 and buses 780 to 782.
The three major bus companies will be adding more buses on its 24 routes that pass major cemeteries in the city. Furthermore the M260 bus route will be extended to reach Songshan Cemetery in Bao’an. Also the M251 bus route will be extended to cover Qili Cemetery in Fuyong and temporary stops will be added to routes M355, 790, B834 and M250 that leads to Baoshan Cemetery. Routes 326 and 67 will also be adding temporary stops in Baoenfudi Cemetery in Nanshan.
