Residents Asked to Call In to Give Suggestions in Turning Vacant Lots into ParksFutian District urban management bureau is inviting its residents to give recommendation that will turn vacant lots that are suitable to be converted into park spaces. The invitation is part of the district’s plan and efforts to transform several of its idle lots into useable community parks. The new measures apply to parcels of land that has close proximity to residential and commercial areas and must span an area of more than 1,000 square meters.

Residents can give their recommendations through phone or email. Several residents have already called in and give suggestions that a space just north of Fuqiang Road will be transformed into a small park that will give residents a place to relax and take a break. One resident living in a residential community just across the lost sand the nearest park is 20 minutes from his home, one the new park is done all he needs it to cross the street to go to the park. Although the park is built along the road, fences should be built to separate the park form the road.

Futian has an area of 78.8 square kilometers and has 100 parks with 15 new parks that opened recently. Furthermore the district is forging ahead and will be construction three large parks and five small parks and each will have its own specific theme which will make FUtian into a more garden like urban district.
