Shenzhen Ranks Sixth on Cities Suitable for Business and Living
A recent survey has listed Shenzhen as one of the top ten cities that is suitable for business and for living in China. Shenzhen took sixth place among the ten livable cities with Zhuhai, Hong Kong and Haikou taking the top two spots in the latest report on urban competitiveness. These top ten cities also saw their livability ratings improve from 2012 to 2013.
Shenzhen was second to Hong Kong on a list that showed comprehensive economic competitiveness, and followed by Shanghai, Taipei, Guangzhou, Beijing, Suzhou, Tianjin, Foshan and lastly Macau. Shanghai, Beijing and Hong Kong led the other cities as the most suitable places to do business in China which is followed by Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Wuhan, Chengdu, Tianjin, Nanjing and Chongqing. Meanwhile Qingdao, Hangzhou, Suzhou and Foshan are cities that were previously nominated that were dropped from the list in 2013.based on the location of these cities Hong Kong, Taiwan, Macau, southeastern region cities and the coastal region near Bohai Sea offer better residential comfort and business potential.
The list compiled by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences suggested that the city level of livability has strong correlation with the economic friendliness and is improving its residential environment that includes factors such as quality of the population, housing environment and infrastructure that can have a impact on the economic opportunities offered by the city.
