City to Introduce Online Traffic Monitoring System
The city will soon be releasing an online traffic monitoring system, which is a service that updates the citywide road congestion every five minutes. This system will help drivers choose the best routes with less traffic.
The system will be using an online traffic index that will grade the traffic in five levels. The levels will be smooth, nearly smooth, slow, congested and jammed. Along with the levels are road maps marked in different colors that will indicate the level of the traffic. City taxis will be installed with a GPS system that will help in the updates of the citywide traffic by sending signals to a command center that will process the traffic signals and update the system.
Residents that then check the traffic situations via the internet, mobile phones and the radio in choosing the best routes for driving. The traffic index will be released as soon as the necessary test will be done.
