Application to Assist Drivers in Searching for Roadside Parking
Drivers can now download a a software application known as Yintingche or Easy to Park in English as a way to familiarize the system of roadside parking which starts in June. The software will initially cone with 1,000 units of virtual currency for drivers to help them park their vehicles at more than 1,673 roadside parking spaces in the four areas namely Nanshan District CBD Area, Zhuzilin in Futian and in Southern Futian and Tianbei in Luohu District from June 1 to 25.
Then on June 26 the application users can then use prepay for roadside parking using registered accounts as a preparation for parking fee collection that will also take effect starting in July. Drivers can call the center service hotline to get registered and to pay the roadside parking fees. To help promote collection of fees the transportation commission will be completing the plans of creating 15,188 parking spaces in 44 administrative places which has 299 roads in Futian, Nanshan, Yantian and Luohu Districts.
Residents are invited to visit the transportation commission’s official website to check on the details of the proposed plans and give suggestions to further improve roadside management.
Drivers will be allowed free parking for five minutes before actual calculations starts. The drivers will also get reminders on their mobile phones before the time expires. If the parking space is not vacated before the time expries the fees will be charged double its usual fee.
