Energy Summit Carries Theme of Low Carbon Development and Quality Urbanization
200 scholars, experts and business representatives coming from 45 countries has discussed low carbon developments during a two day international summit that ended today at the Shenzhen International Low Carbon City located in Longgang District. Following a theme of low carbon development and quality based urbanization, the summit included a plenary forum, sub forums and seminars that covered variety of environmental topics ranging from carbon emission, climate change, renewable energy, emission trading and new energy vehicles.
The energy summit have gather the world’s top low carbon experts and enterprises in which experts are expecting to create a think tank for the Shenzhen low carbon development. Along with the Energy Foundation, the Rocky Mountain Institute and the Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory, companies based in the U.S. will be co-initiating the international green development think tank alliance. The alliance will then help in promoting the research and popularization of policies in regards to low carbon development plus aimed to assist their members with decision making and an exchange of ideas.
The summit features several innovative environmental projects plus green events that includes a carbon account which will record the footprints of the participants and visitors. The summit will also have an intelligent bike rental facility that will allow bicycles to be stored vertically in small spaces making it convenient for renting management and bicycle maintenance.
The summit also has an electric vehicle exhibition in the trading hall of the low carbon city that features the latest models of BMW, Tesla and BYD. Visitors will then get the chance to usr these models in a testing facility. Other events held are a greenway bicycle ride, an exhibition for Hakka culture and a creative fair.
