Fuel Suppliers to Replace National IV Standard Fuel with the Cleaner National V Fuel
Starting next week fuel suppliers in the city will be replacing the No. 93 and 97 gasoline both National IV Standard gasoline with the new cleaner National V standard gasoline as if will be officially used around the city. As for the moment the new No. 89 gasoline that was supposed to replace No. 90 is not available in Guangdong market.
A week before July, gas prices will remain the same in spite the release of a much cleaner and greener fuel which is slightly more expensive. Based on a statement by Sinopec Shenzhen one of the three major oil supplier, the benchmark retail prices of the new gasoline will increase by 0.1 yuan per liter starting July No. 98 gasoline will still be in effect. While CNOOC said that their five stations in Nanshan will be using the new fuel this June 22 and PetroChina 50 stations will be using the new fuel before July 1.
Fourteen Guangdong cities including Guangzhou and Shenzhen will be adopting the new fuel standard by next month and the practice of using the new fuel will be expanded across the whole province by October 1, and higher quality diesel will also be in used by 2015.
The new National V Standard will tighten the emission limit and has added a pollution control program called Particle Number to the National IV Emission Standard. The Nitrogen oxide emission emitted from light passenger vehicles is reduced from 25 to 28 percent and nitrogen particles by 82 percent.
