Residents Invited to Hear on New Rules on Metro Operations
The municipal office of the legislative affairs is inviting residents for the hearing of the drafted rules on the Metro Rail operation management. The hearing will be discussing proposals such as the ban on living animals except for Seeing Eye dogs, penalties on passengers using the Metro without purchasing a ticket and to ban eating and drinking on the Metro. The hearing is going to be held at the Shenzhen Civic Center and will be attended by government officials, Metro operators, experts and residents.
Interested residents who want to join in the hearing can send in and file an application. The form can be downloaded at fzj.sz.gov.cn, phone in inquiries are entertained by calling 8210-1915. One expat agrees on the banning of live animals on the Metro since this animals smell and noisy and are inconsiderate to others. This animals also poses as a safety risk to passengers and the only animal allowed a reseeding eye dogs used by a vision impaired person.
A survey was conducted last month with around half of the city resident responded to the eating ban in the Metro should be done in a discriminatory manner. Residents also said tht only odorless food and water are the only type of food and drinks allowed in the Metro and food with strong odors should be banned.
