Number of People Using Mobile Devices in Surfing the Net Increases
An industry report showed that the number of people that surfs the internet using mobile devices has exceeded the number of people using computers when going online. And these numbers have increased by 14 million in the past six months and are now around 84 percent of the internet users are using mobile phones in going online. And by the end of June the total number of netizens using their smart phones has reached 632 million with 527 million logging in into the internet.
This is the first time the numbers of mobile internet users have exceed those using the internet in the traditional way using personal computers or laptops. This only shows that the mobile phone is a key device for going online. This also show that the mobile network is taking the lead in the internet development in the country and its has become firmer in its status among netizens.
The increase in the number of smart phone owners also gave rise to the e-commerce industry along with instant messaging and entertainment applications which is a reflection of the demand of netizens. The report showed that the number of users are now using their mobile phones in making payments has also increased by 63 percent in January to June as a growth of payment apps are making its way to the software market. Mobile payments attracted more consumers and gave greater contribution to the e-commerce development.
Also instant messaging applications such as WeChat and Weibo are still being used among mobile internet users that use online shopping apps such as Taobao and Jingdong. Survey showed that most people saged 20 to 40 are the main users of mobile internet users. Some think that these mobile devices will not replace computers as internet users are finding their own ways of getting online and related apps will be promoted accordingly with the demand.
