Shenzhen to Set Up More Colleges with International UniversitiesThe city will be setting up a college along with the cooperation of the University of Queensland in Australia and the Jilin University in the Northeast China. base on their agreement the college will be setting up at the Universiade New Town in Longgang and will be introducing advantageous subjects that is chosen from both universities ranging from biology, new energy and environmental science.

The president of Jilin University Li Yuanyuan stated that the new college will be attracting leading teachers coming from around the world and will invite elite students to do research on global cutting edge and technologies. Also the president of Queensland University Peter Hoy is praising the city’s efforts in developing a higher education by cooperating with intenational universities. Shenzhen hopes that the Universiade New Town will become the new university center in the east by introducing more prestigious international institutions.

A few weeks ago the Shenzhen government has signed with the Lomonosov Moscow State University and the Beijing Istitute of Technology in creating the China Russia University in Longgang. The Chinese University of Hong Kong is also opening their Shenzhen School this September. Negotiations are also on the ay with the University of Melbourne and the Harbin Institute of Technology in building a college in Longgang as well.
