Spending Dropped Down by 15 Percent Amid Furgality Campaign
The city government spenditure on vehicles, receptions and overseas trips have dropped by 15 percent compared to last year figure amid the country’s frugality campaign. According to city legislature the government has spent 531 million yuan on receptions, public vehicles and trips which is 100 million yuan less compared to 2012.
The local finance commission stated that based on an official report that the government final accounts for 2013 have been submitted to the legislature to be reviewed still the spending is still 8 million yuan over the planned budget. Last year the expenses used on overseas trips that cost 28 million yuan has declined by 29 percent compared to 2012. The remaining amount was used for vehicles and receptions. Revenues for 2013 also reached 173 billion yuan a 16 percent increase compared to 2012.
China has been longed been bothered by officials that are tapping in expense account to go abroad on trips as official visits, driving government vehicles on personal errands and enjoying grand receptions and accommodations.
