Railway Group to Add Two New Lines to Run from Shenzhen to Nanchang
The Guangzhou Railway Group Corp will be opening two pairs of high speed train from Shenzhen and Nanchang in Jiangxi Province starting on September 16 as the Nanchang-Changsha section of the Shanghai-Kunming high speed rail is set to open.
Everyday the G634 train will leave Shenzhen North Railway Station at 4:30 pm and is scheduled to arrive Nanchang West Station by 9:40 pm and the G638 will depart by 6:30 pm and is set to arrive at 11:30 pm. The whole trip takes about five hours and a ticket for economy class costs around 546 yuan while a first class seat costs 868 yuan.
The railway company is also operating the D2322 train from Shenzhen to Nanchang plying the Xiamen-Shenzhen line and the whole trip is eight hours and 43 minutes long. The fare is also cheaper at 423 yuan for a first class ticket and 352 yuan for an economy class ticket. The new railway will cut the travel time from Shenzhen and Nanchang by three hours and 49 minutes.
The rail network is expected to improve further as construction wraps up on the Ganzhou-Shenzhen High Speed Railway since its part of the proposed rapid transit system that links Shenzhen and the Pearl River Delta to Nanchang. The rail project will be completed by 2020.
