City to Invite Expatriates to Join in Volunteer Activities in FutianLocal expatriates are being invited to participate in a variety of volunteer activities in Futian District. One activity consists of visiting Shenzhen’s Zifeiyu Exceptional Children Rehabilitation Center in Tairan Industrial Zone. Established in 2005 the rehabilitation center the institution provides professional rehab services to children who are autistic or suffering from cerebral palsy.

Professionals working in the center will guide these expatriate volunteers to paint on walls at the children’s center. These colors and patterns are known to help the children in doing their rehabilitation as the colorful patterns are providing visual stimulation. These expatriates will be joining Chinese volunteers to visit senior citizens as well at the Futian Welfare Center

Expatriates can also chose to take part in the weekly English corner activities in Bijia Hill Park during Sunday mornings and in Lianhua Hill Park which is held every Saturday morning. The volunteers will be tasked to teach English songs and tell English stories to children. the English corner was created to help improve and teach children who are interested in learning the English language. Applicants interested in applying should have basic Chinese language skills and artistic talent and is outgoing and patient.
