City to Bring In National Medical Teams to Boost Medical Services
Several contracts were signed by Shenzhen public hospitals in Beijing that will bring in 23 top national medical teams in hopes to boost the medical services in the city. From the 23 teams, ten teams are led by the country’s top academic and are enjoying international reputation.
The Shenzhen People’s Hospital will be bringing in a team from its nephrology department who is led by Chen Xiangmei who comes from the Chinese PLA General Hospital in Beijing. Meanwhile the Peking University Shenzhen Hospital will be cooperating with Qiu Guixing who comes from the Peking Union Medical College Hospital to lead it orthopedics department. Contracts were also signed by the city with the Peking University and the Southern Medical University to help in the collaboration in establishing affiliated hospitals in Shenzhen.
The city’s official unit that handles programs to attract investment Invest Shenzhen, have also signed contracts with enterprises and institutions and is hoping to bringing several projects in six medical and health industries bringing in a total investment of 10 billion yuan.
The contract signing is part of the ongoing effort of the city to attract renowned doctors from medical schools and hospitals to come and work in Shenzhen. The city has already invested 100 billion yuan in developing its medical services for the next six years and plans to have at least 100 renowned doctors working in 20key national medical programs, 60 provincial programs and 10 national and specialized hospitals by 2020.
