Residents to Have Access to Two More Free Beaches in Shenzhen
Residents and travelers alike will now add Xichong and Huwan in eastern Dapeng New Area and join Dameisha which will bring the number of free public beaches in Shenzhen to three. Also according to Liang Junqian that Dameisha beach is not charging any fees for tourist from May to October which cleared the rumor of curbing visitors.
The urban planning commission is also working on having a beach management plan which will gradually open more beaches in the city to the public in the future. The commission said that the city has 56 beaches and 27 of these beaches will be open to the public while the remaining beaches will be closed temporary. 11 of these 27 beaches will be developed for the public and the remaining 16 will be developed to accommodate coastal recreation and waterfront tourism.
The urban planning commission will also be dividing the 11 public beaches into three categories, three beaches will belong to one category, five beaches in a second category in which the government will regulate paid access and the third category including Dongchong and Xiaomeisha will have a market price mechanism.
