Hotel and Airfare Rates Increase by 30 Percent during National Holidays
Travel costs during the national holiday are expected to increase by 30 percent due to the increase in hotel and airfare rates. A local tourism website showed that reservations for medium and long trips of residents accounts for 37 percent of the total reservation, while outbound travel accounted for 33 percent of the total. Several top locations for travel are Yunnan, Fujian, Hainan, Hunan and Guangxi is for local travelers and outbound travelers chose South Korea and Thailand.
During the first day of the National Day holiday the Shenzhen North Railway Station is estimating around 80,000 passengers will be traveling. And to relieve the railway transportation strain the station will be adding another pair of high speed trains to Guangzhou and two more pairs going to Nanchang. Traffic police are advising driver going to Huizhou and Shantou to use Jihe expressway then turn into Shenshan expressway and avoid heavy traffic.
OCT East and Dameisha is expected around 80,000 to 120,000 vehicles traveling to their part but only have 8,000 parking spots available, thus traffic police is considering imposing traffic control on Luosha Road and the Eastern Coast Expressway if necessary. To get to the beaches drivers are asked to use Shuiguan and Yanpai Expressways.
