Travelers Warned of Traffic Congestion as National Day Holiday Nears
Traffic police are advised travelers to take public transportation and choose their travel times as parking spots are limited at the eastern tourists spots namely OCT East, Xiaomesha, Dapeng, Nan’ao and Dameisha and roads gets easily congested during the holidays. Traffic leading to the east is usually on red alert which is the highest level of congestion especially during the holidays and has forced police to create contingency plans to monitor violations and handle accidents fast.
Around 80 more traffic officers will be released during the upcoming holiday to help guide traffic in Yantian and Dapeng and traffic control measures on Luosha Road, Pingku Road and Shenzhen Yantian No. 2 Passage will be done is seemed necessary. Drivers caught illegally parking their vehicles at these eastern tourist attractions will be subjected to a 500 yuan fine and their vehicles will be towed away.
Peak travel times to the city leading to eastern Guangdong are predicted to happen during the evening hours starting tomorrow until Wednesday morning. Peak of returning vehicles might happen on October 6 as expressways will faces challenges in the increase of the number of short trips from holiday travelers.
