Transport Commission to Adopt Tiered Fare System
The city transport commission is planning to adopt a tiered fare system to charge parking adjustment fees to per instance rather than according to the length of parking which was proposed in an earlier hearing. Based on a two revised plans that will be submitted for a review for a second hearing that is scheduled for October 23 will suggest the rates of the adjustment fees will be decided by time period and locations.
The city is now categorizing parking spots into three levels that is based on the severity of congestion, intensity of land development and convenience of public transport. Plan A will consist of vehicles entering A areas namely CBDs in Futian, Nanshan, Luohu and Qianhai will have a maximum charge of 40 yuan per entry. Vehicles parking in B areas and non A areas in Yantian, Nanshan, Luohu and Futian and CBDs in Bao’an and Longgang districts plus areas in Guangming, Pingshan, Longhua and Dapeng New Area will be issuing a maximum charge of 20 yuan each entry tie and the others will be at 10 yuan for every entry time.
Fares will be lowered by 25 percent if the driver enters or leave during rush hours between 7:30 am to 9:30 am and from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm. Off peak periods is from 7 to 7:3- am7 to 7:30 am, 9:30 am to 5:30 pm, and 7:30 to 9 pm with now adjusted fees.
Plan B will have standards of 60 yuan, 30 yuan and 15 yuan per time in different areas and drivers only have to pay half the fare if they enter and leave the parking spots during rush hour. The parking fees at Meisha beaches and tourism attractions will be charges full fare during tourism season.
