Center for Disease Control and Prevention to Take Measures to Prevent Virus Outbreak in the City
The city center for disease prevention and control is taking preventive measure to prevent any outbreak of the said Ebola virus in the city. Some of the major preventive measures that the center is taking including a day to day health conditions of people coming from Ebola stricken countries and to prepare local hospitals and communities for any possible cases that the center might encounter.
The Ebola virus spreads through human to human transmission only through direct contact or through broken skin and mucous membranes coming from the blood, secretions and other bodily fluids of infected people or from surfaces and materials that are contaminated with fluids from infected people as well. The center is already conducting tests on people that they think needed screening and so far there are no suspected Ebola patients in the city.
The center will be establishing a monitoring system for those entering the city from infected areas in Africa within 21 days of their departure which is the incubation period of the disease. The center is in constant contact with these people through phone calls to gather updates on their health conditions and to remind them to contact the nearest hospital if they show any signs or symptoms of the disease.
The fear of the spread of the virus in china is increasing as experts conducted a mathematical computation on the infection rate based on the transmission of the disease earlier this month. the key strategy in preventing the spread of the disease and to control is to properly educate the public about the disease and to take scientific approach.
The center is also working with border inspection and quarantine authority in making sure that those whose body temperature goes above 37.5 degrees will be taken to Shenzhen No. 3 People’s Hospital which is designated to treat patients who caught the Ebola virus.
