Australian Prime Minister Annouces China as Host for 2016 G20 Summit
For the year 2016 China will be hosting world leaders for the G20 summit based on a statement by Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott during the recently concluded talks in Brisbane. Turkey will be taking over the presidency from Australia and will also be hosting the G20 event in Antalya next year.
And according to a communications from the group of the world’s biggest economies that China will be chosen to be the home for the G20 Summit for 2016. Australia is certainly looking forward to work with Turkey in hosting and the turn over of the summit next year and the Prime Minister also took time time to announce the decision of China being the host for the 2016 G20 Summit.
Xi Jinping China’s president is confident that the country can fulfill their roles of being the chair for the summit and to be a member of a three member management for 2015 and 2017. Compared to other international organizations, the G20 Summit has no permanent staff and it rotates the chiar between members and select from a different regional grouping from each countries each year. The chairmanship of the summit consists of a revolvingthree member management troika of past, present and future chairs.
The incumbent chair will establish a temporary secreatariat for the duration of the term that coordinates the group’s operations and is responsible for organizing the meetings. Its troika role also is to ensure continuity of the Summits work and management across the years.
