China Opens Up by Hosting First Internet Conference
China is now willing to work with other countries to further deepen international cooperation, uphold cyber security and respect sovereignty in the internet base on a congratulatory letter written by President XI Jingping for the three day First World Internet Conference that opened in Wuzhen.
The letter read by Vice premier Ma Kai at the opening ceremony said that China is actively advancing the development of the internet and will be extended to benefit the Chinese people. The Internet reflected the issues of cyberspace that the international community. Xi also extended his welcome to all the participants from all over the world.
Attendees include Alibaba chairman Jack Ma, Chinese search engine Baidu CEO Li Yanhong, Tencent founder and chairman Pony Ma, Internet Corp., for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) CEO Fadi Chehade and other representatives from organizations such as Qualcomm, Microsoft and Samsung.
