Additional Doctors for Public Hospitals to be Trained through Medical Program
The city will be training 4,000 inpatient doctors including general practitioners by 2015 in their hopes to meet the increasing demand for doctors at public hospitals. These doctors will start working in public hospitals around the city once they completed their training program for inpatient doctors.
Last year public hospitals suspended its recruitment of university graduates and all medical school graduates has to receive three years of training and two years of post graduate education before they can work in hospitals. The program was launched in 2010 in the hopes to increase a medical student’s skill, knowledge and experience. And as of the moment around 1,591 students have been recruited for the program. Students who enrolled in 2010 have graduated this year and were dispatched to public hospitals in the city.
Students are chosen through an examination that is held by the city health commission at examination halls that are set up at national medical schools in nine cities.
