Shenzhen Residents Crossover to Hong Kongfor Christmas ShoppingResidents are excited and showing enthusiasm when crossing the border to do their shopping in Hong Kong because of the festive environment as the city is filled by ornamented trees and sales ads on windows. Just this weekend saw massive amount of travelers at major checkpoints with many of them crossed over to Hong Kong to shop.

The week end saw long lines at the e-channels that was only usage by qualified travelers. A shopper’s survey showed that most of the items that were bought by residents from Shenzhen ranged from shoes, clothes, cosmetics and gifts for friends, as one woman shopper said that she prefer shopping in Hong Kong during the holidays since she has more choices and enjoys a higher discount is seen in most stores.

Other fell in line at the doors of luxury stores to take advantage of the season since some are offer special packages and discount and sales. While other said that it was already part of their routine come to Hong Kong and shop during Christmas. Some bought milk, sweets and other grocery items since they believe that the food sold in Hong Kong is safer and cheaper than those found in Shenzhen.

While other cross over Hong Kong to shop, other took advantage of the season and enjoyed that variety of Christmas decorations and took photos of lights, Statues of Santa Claus, snow decorations and more.
