Subsidies offered to further Boost Use and Sales of E-vehicles
As the city offer more subsidies to help boost the sales and use of electric vehicles, drivers will be granted up to two hours of free parking in Shenzhen. in addition to this an allowance will be given for purchasing an e-vehicle of up to 10,000 yuan to 20,000 yuan and a three year car insurance subsidy for every e-vehicle owner.
Also to go with the subsidies is the plan to subsidize toll fees and installment of electric charging stations as more social capital is withdrawn to attract investment and to help manage charging stations. Electricity rate will be no more than .45 kilowatts per hour and these drivers will be enjoying free parking for the first two hours in which the rates are highest. The city is also planning to allow residents who used e-vehicles for more than a year to get one month free access to a car to be used for long distance travel
Some residents agree on buying e-vehicles is beneficial to the environment but still lacks the supporting facilities and while some complained on high prices. also some of these e-vehicles take a while to charge making them impractical to use and some are concern on prices, performance and that convenience in the maintenance still is top priority before buying a e-vehicle.
