Park Construction to Speed Up and Opened to the Public for FreeFutian Agricultural Ecological Park also called Xiangmi Park will be open to the public for free by the end of 2015, twelve years are the plan to build the park. the plan created in 2003, stated that the park will take up and area of 430,000 square meters in Futian district and scheduled to be used on 2008 had no further action taken until Zhang Yundong question the lack of progress of the park project.

Then in 2009, Zhang made a proposal to speed up the construction work of the park, but has not able to get a satisfactory answer from the local government. Then in 2010 an investment plan for the park was given the go signal after a reshuffling of the city administration that was in-charge of the plan. Come 2013 Zhang raised the question again and got the same results with the reason of lo work efficiency delayed the project and is now calling for a supervising mechanism.

As of the moment a patch of land is being develop into restaurants, tea houses and flower market which made it more difficult in build the park. Now the Futian district government is being appointed to oversee the park project and has created a timetable for the park construction after soliciting opinions from political adviser and residents. There are 267 shops that were slated at the park and will be relocated and construction is scheduled to begin in March.
