Shenzhen Aims to Achieve a 8.5 Percent GDP Growth for 2015Shenzhen is aiming to achieve a GDP growth of 8.5 percent for this year, and announcement that was made during a meeting of the city’s legislature’s standing committee. The growth will be seen in the residents’ amount of disposable income and with the unemployment rate will be kept under 3 percent.

For this year government investment will reach 38 billion yuan, or 90 percent is spent on districts and new areas that were previously excluded from the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone. Before the zone was only limited to Futian, Luohu, Nanshan and Yantian districts wherein urban infrastructure get better development. Furthermore around 36 billion yuan is spent on projects that will help in improving the well being of city residents.

Also this year will see a start of construction and renovation of several roads which include Guimiao Road in Nanshan district, a 4.9 kilometer long section of Guimiao Road to be renovated as part of an effort to relieve traffic congestion which is scheduled to be completed in October 2017. Plus the government will spend an additional 30 million yuan to build 42,173 roadside parking spaces plus other development such as the construction of three high school that will start construction this year and will be located in Guangming, Longhua and Dapeng new areas.
