Notary Offices to Process Applications for Car Purchases
The seven notary offices accepted more than 150,000 applications for car purchases by 6 pm last Sunday, which was the last day of the eight day period for these offices to accept applications from residents that are rushing to purchase vehicles before 6om on December 29. That’s when the city implemented the limited on car purchases took effect.
Shenzhen has now limited the number of new vehicles that can be sold in the city at 100,000 a year this including the 20,000 allotted for new energy vehicles. Those planning to buy should acquire new license plates through lotteries or auction. These notary offices will then review the submitted documents by the applicant and will issue a notary certificate to qualified applicants. Residents can only apply f they are issued a certificate for a new license plate.
Notary certificates are delivered to applicants and any related information will be made public. The city saw an additional 68,000 vehicles registered last November, which only showed that there is an increase of 63 percent compares to the same period last year. Plus an additional 42,000 vehicles were registered between December 1 to 20 an increase of 132 percent and without a limit on purchases an estimated number of vehicles will exceed 4 million by 2016.
