High Speed Trains to Cut Travel Times During Spring Festival Travel
After the Guangzhou-Guizhou and Guangzhou Nanning high speed railway were opened last Friday Three pairs of high speed trains were put to use, which cut down travel time from Shenzhen to Guilin to less than four hours compared to the previous 13 hours trip. Shenzhen North Railway Station will be operating these three pairs of trains namely train number G2902, G2904 and G2906 going to Guilin.
Ticket fares for VIP seats are priced at 367 yuan, first class seats costs 264 yuan and 212 for an economy seat. Tickets for February 12 – 17 the Spring Festival Travel period are already sold out. Passengers taking the train to Nanning and Guizhou will need to change trains at the Guangzhou South Railway Station and once improvements to the railway network is done more trains will be added that will connect Shenzhen with Guizhou and Nanning.
Based on the railway operator around 20 trains will be used on the Guizhou-Guangzhou line which will include the three pairs between Shenzhen and Guilin, 10 pairs of trains from Guangzhou and Guiyang and 7 pairs from Guangzhou and Guilin. The operator will also provide 18 pairs of trains once the Nanning-Guangzhou line opens including 12 pairs between Guangzhou and Nanning, four pairs from Beihai and two pairs from Liuzhou. One regular train is also added K486 from Shenzhen going to Guiyang through Chengdu.
