City to Open Two New Hospitals and Upgrade Old Ones
The city is planning to open two new hospitals this year while the ten other projects are to be relocated and upgrading old hospitals and build new ones to offer residents more choices in health care resources in the city where public hospitals are usually packed with crowds.
The Shenzhen branch of the Cancer Hospital Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences in Longgang district and the Southern Medical University Shenzhen Hospital in Qianhai is scheduled to open this year. The city’s health and family planning commission stated that the Shenzhen branch of the cancer hospital is the first hospital in the city that will purely concentrate on tumor treatment. The relocating and upgrading of Xinming Hospital, Shenzhen Sun Yat-sen Cardiovascular Hospital, Julong Hospital, and Shenzhen Chronic Diseases Hospital is already underway, and plans to build more hospitals, including a children’s hospital, are planned as well.
Just last year three hospitals were opened including the Peking University Shenzhen Hospital along with the upgrading of their facilities and twenty other medical facilities have completed their projects.
