Shenzhen Fashion Industry Tops other Cities in Vitality
Based on the latest China Trends Index, Shenzhen fashion industry vitality is stronger compared to other Chinese cities. Launched on 2006 the annual index is managed by Trends Group a Beijing based publisher that publishes some of the most popular fashion magazine in China including Bazaar and Cosmopolitan.
Shenzhen is one of the cities that stood out among the four cities that are fighting for the title during a press conference yesterday in which expatriates had a part in the evaluation together with people from the fashion industry cast more than 32,000 votes. The clothing industry in Shenzhen has an output of more than 200 billion yuan last year showing an 11 percent increase compared to 2013.
Shenzhen is home to 2,500 apparel enterprises that employs 300,000 people with 15,000 are designers and carries over 800 apparel brands. Well known fashion enterprises started exhibiting their designs and achievements at the Shenzhen Civic Center an event that will last until Sunday.
