Cross Border E-Stores to be Opened in Qianhai Free Trade Zone
Local authorities are being urged by political advisers in Nanshan to issue licenses for cross border e-commerce firms to be allowed to open stores in the Qianhai Free Trade Zone. By putting up such stores in Qianhai would likely resolve the existing issues on smuggling as wee as offer local residents chances to buy cheaper overseas products without the need to cross the border to Hong Kong.
Cross border e-commerce experimental stores will be able to offer residents a hands on trials before the do payments and this will be an alternative way of purchasing imported goods rather than going to Hong Kong or buying through offshore agents. With the ever increasing amount of mainlanders traveling to Hong Kong to shop produced a lot of problems and conflicts in the recent years and by opening cross border stores might be one of the solutions.
Counterfeit goods are one of the issues that concerns mainlanders that shop online and as these experimental stores will be implemented customers can test out the goods and lessen the risk of buying counterfeit items. Last month a cross border experimental store was open in Guangzhou Nansha Free Trade Zone and sold cosmetics from the US and South Korea and powdered milk from Australia.
