Various Sports and Cultural Activities to be Held During Spring Festival
Around 1,200 various cultural and sports activities will be held in Shenzhen during the seven day Spring Festival that starts on Wednesday. These activities will feature young sculptors Chen Wecai and Cao Wen that will be putting up 86 of their works on display at the Guan Shanyue Art Museum in Futian.
There will be also works from 17 female artists that were born or have live in eight foreign countries will also be putting up their art works at the He Xiangning Art Museum in Nanshan during the festival. In addition the Shenzhen Museum will host exhibitions of several ancient Chinese artworks. Local residents are granted free access to concerts given by the philharmonic orchestra at the Shenzhen Grand Theater, residents will need to show their ID cards at the ticket counter to claim their free tickets.
Those who want to exercise and stretch their body during the festival, local sports facilities will open their doors to the public for free. The Shenzhen Sports Center will be opening its facilities for free during the first three days of the festival including its basketball court, tennis court and swimming pool. Other sports facilities such as the Huangmugang Tennis Center and the Futian Sports Park has been open to the public since February 3 and will remain open until February 24. Resorts such as OCT East, Shenzhen Safari Park and Happy Valley will be treating their visitors to different activities during the seven day festival.
