Chinese Leaders Extends Spring Festival Greetings to the Nation
President Xi Jinping and other Chinese leaders gave their Lunar New Year greetings to Chinese nationals here and abroad. In a speech in a gathering at the Great Hall of the People, Xi showed his appreciation for the country’s effort in deepening reform, develop and advance the rule of law in the past years.
Xi stated that he was proud of China and its people and that they should give respect to the work that is being done by the industrious and courageous Chinese people and their innovative spirit and achievements. For this year, as China faces situations that are no less challenging and complicated the people should stay closer and promote reform, justice, innovation and a better standard of living using more vigorous efforts.
Xi pledged to have more work and improve work styles in the Party and government and to create more wealth and benefits for the people. XI also said that the cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics is working for unprecedented ones and its residents must gear up for historic distinctiveness. He also called on the country to keep a sober mind, make practical efforts, avoid empty talks and overcome challenges.
And with the Spring Festival drawing near, Xi expressed the importance for family reunions to strengthen family bond and education. Chinese traditions and virtues of family harmony should not be forgotten and families must ensure that the younger generation will grow to a much better nation.
