High Tech Conference to be Held in Shenzhen to Create Strategic Development
A provincial conference on high tech innovation is held in Shenzhen to help create blueprints for a strategic development of the high tech industry in Guangdong. The top leaders of 21 major cities in Guangdong will be attending the meeting in which professional, organization, entrepreneurs that have contributed scientific achievements will be getting awards.
The meeting has held in Guangzhou for two consecutive years and recently Shenzhen won the approval of the State Council in June to become the country’s fourth national Innovation Demonstration Zone. Reports are saying that China is grooming Shenzhen to become a special technology zone. Shenzhen is home to around 30,000 high tech companies and three of these companies had sales revenues of more than 100 billion yuan a year, 17 had 10 billion yuan revenues and 157 have a billion yuan in revenues.
By the year 2014, Shenzhen’s added value of its high tech companies hit 517 billion yuan or 11.2 percent higher than in 2013 and the investment in the high tech research and development help account for 4 percent of the city’s GDP last year. Shenzhen is listed on Forbes China as the most innovative city in the Chinese mainland and five of its residents are included in the top ten most innovative people that is based in Shenzhen.
According to a report released by the World Intellectual Property Organization, four Chinese companies with headquarters in Shenzhen entered the top 50 companies in terms of patent applications based on Patent Cooperation Treaty.
