BYD Plans to Market Electric Vehicles in South Korea
BYD a new energy vehicle maker in Shenzhen is planning to sell their electric vehicles in South Korea by the end of 2015. BYD is a rising Chinese electric manufacturer which created the popular BYD e6 electric car model and SUV and showed it off at an international electric vehiclce expo that open in Jeju South Korea.
BYD’s general manager Liu Xueliang that control the Asia Pacific Region is leading the company during the show. He believes that South Korea is a perfect country to introduce the developed EVs because of the favorable government policies and a very strong public environmental awareness paired with the understanding of the automotive industry. BYD is the only Chinese EV producer during the expo, that also attracted big name automakers such as General Motors and BMW.
BYD paid great attention to the EV expo, that will last until March 15, stating that it is not only a great opportunity for the company to get to know more on South Korean market but for south Korean consumers, government and media to know more on the development of electronic vehicles in China. BYD is also planning to sell its electric bus first as public transportation consumes more energy that private vehicles, plus electric buses reduces most of the harmful exhaust emissions. BYD is also selling their e6 electric vehicles to south Korea as the cars have been used as taxis in Shenzhen for more than 5 years, and the e6 models ca n also be seen in Hong Kong.
