Fifteen Most Traffic Congested Cities Found in China
Based on a traffic congestion report that covers nearly 200 cities worldwide showed that a third of the world’s 50 most congested cities are found in China with Beijing at 19th place and Taipei the most congested ranking 13th. Chongqing is ranked 15th followed by Tianjing at 17th. Among the top 50 cities with the highest concentrate of congestion level 15 are found in China.
The congestion report was released by TomTom a leader in navigation and mapping products based in Amsterdam. The company covers 218 cities in 36 countries and regions and data collected for the report was based on GPS measurements from the company’s compiled traffic database. The report showed that Turkey is the most congested city with a congestion level of 58 percent. Congestion level for Beijing was at 37 percent but went up to 74 percent during the evening.
It shows that traffic congestion doubles during evening rush hours which is considered the most congested time for most cities. As traffic congestion is fast becoming a problem for many cities in China spreading from large cities down to second and third tiered cities.
