City Exerts More Efforts in Becoming a International City
During the opening of the Sixth Shenzhen Party Congress, Party chief Ma Xing-rui addressed the 480 representative that are present that the city is making efforts in continuing as the national economic center to become a more international city and hopefully improve the livelihoods of the residents in the next five years.
The meet is closely watched by the decisions made since a significant impact on the future of the city as implantation of the development goals are set by the State Council for the Pearl River Delta. City authorities said they will be promoting innovation and continue to develop the Belt and Road Initiative and push through urbanization and environmental issues.
By 2020 inputs in the research and development will account for 4.25 percent of the Gross Domestic Product reaching 2.6 trillion yuan. The number of local enterprises entering the top 500 in the world will hit 10 and the per capita dispensable income of Shenzhen residents will hit 60,000 yuan. Shenzhen will then further enhance regional cooperation that will promote construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong- Macau Bay Area which is also known as the three plus two economic circle of Shenzhen. and the Shenzhen-Shanwei Cooperation Zone that will continue extensive cooperation with other Pearl River Delta cities.
Shenzhen is also pushing forward the construction of a third runway of the Shenzhen airport, several metro projects, the outer ring expressway, the Pingshan Yantian Corridor, the Shenzhen Zhongshan Corridor, Shenzhen Ganzhou High Speed Rail and the second exhibition center.
