Databases Created to Rate Doctor Performance
Part of the medical system reforms in the city, two databases will be created that will rate the quality of Shenzhen doctors. New reforms will also be released to make it easier for doctors to work in multiple locations. Based on the new policy, a doctor credibility database will be created to manage the conduct the doctors.
The Shenzhen Medical Science Association is also setting up an assessment system that grades professional proficiency and hospitals will be allowed to pay doctors based on the rating. Doctors working in Shenzhen are allowed to practice at multiple locations across the city in July. Based on the reform plan that was approved by the Guangdong Provincial Health Department, these doctors can provide medical services at unlimited locations without approval form the local health commission, but are required to get consent from the primary medical institution they are working from.
Doctors will have to sign an employment contract with the primary institution and to have agreements with other medical locations. This move is part of the city’s medical registration system reform gives doctors the freedom in working in multiple locations since the city piloted the program in June 2010.
