New Resident Card to Feature RFID and Anti Counterfeiting Features
A new high tech residence card is now available to local residents to make their life easier. The new residence card is sporting RFID and anti counterfeiting features in which the card allows residents to apply for travel documents without going back to where their hukou was first registered.
Qualified residents in Shenzhen can go to the nearest police station and apply for the new residence card for free. The new resident cards were issued Monday and will features more than 10 anti counterfeit features. Based on the Shenzhen residence card regulations, card holders will enjoy new benefits from the right to apply for a driver’s license, passport and travel permits and get training subsidies as well.
The applicants must have lived in the city and paid social insurance for more than 18 months in a two year period. Residents can also apply online and inquire on the relevant policies regarding the new resident cards.
